PBS SoCal | KCET in partnership with the African American Cultural Center of Long Beach and public radio station KJAZZ (88.1 KKJZ) present MAKING BLACK AMERICA: A Social Celebration of Black Joy in Music, Dance, and Community.

Mix, mingle, and take in the festivities of this unique Black History Month event! 

Featuring an homage to rent parties, dance lessons, food inspired by the annual family reunion, and a children’s corner. Guests are encouraged to come in their favorite 1920s to 1970s attire. 

Guests will also have the opportunity to visit AACCLB’s gallery. This month’s exhibit: “The Roots of Slavery.” 

This event is inspired by the stories and themes presented in the four-part PBS television series MAKING BLACK AMERICA, which chronicles the vast social networks and organizations created by and for Black people.
